Please check PTV for current timetables as this service has limited daily departures.
Who We Help from Point Cook
Point Cook is a genuinely unique suburb – with a population of over 72,000 and a median age of just 33, it is one of Melbourne’s youngest and most family-oriented communities. According to Wyndham City data, more than 63% of Point Cook households are couple families with children, and over 52% of residents were born overseas, with Indian, Chinese, and Filipino communities particularly well represented.
What this means in practice is that we see a wide variety of Point Cook patients with equally varied needs.
Young families make up a significant proportion of our Point Cook patients. Parents come to us with newborns they’d like assessed after birth, toddlers and school-age children with postural or developmental concerns, and teenagers managing sports-related injuries from football, cricket, netball, and swimming. Dr. Yvette Dimalanta has a particular interest in paediatric and pregnancy chiropractic and works gently and confidently with patients of all ages.
Pregnant women from Point Cook regularly come to us, many referred by their GP or midwife. Pregnancy places enormous demand on the spine and pelvis, and chiropractic care during pregnancy — particularly the Webster Technique for optimal foetal positioning — is something we are experienced in providing safely.
Young professionals and dual-income households make up much of Point Cook’s workforce, with many commuting to the Melbourne CBD or working in the western suburbs business parks. Sitting for long periods, sustained forward posture at a screen, and the physical stress of the daily commute are common triggers for neck pain, upper back tension, headaches, and low back pain in this demographic.
We also see Point Cook residents who are active and athletic – runners along the Point Cook Coastal Park, cyclists, swimmers, and team sport participants. Chiropractic care plays an important role in injury recovery, performance optimisation, and keeping active people doing what they love.
Whatever brought you here, there’s a very good chance we’ve helped someone in exactly your situation before.
Services Available to Point Cook Patients
Chiropractic Care
Our principal chiropractor Dr. Alfie Dimalanta has been helping patients from Melbourne’s western suburbs – including many long-term patients from Point Cook – since 2004. With over 20 years of experience, Alfie specialises in family chiropractic and the management of both acute and chronic pain conditions.
Our associate chiropractor Dr. Yvette Dimalanta graduated from RMIT University in 2023 and has a special interest in paediatric care and pregnancy chiropractic, making her an excellent choice for Point Cook’s many young families.
We offer a full range of adjustment techniques. If you prefer a traditional high-velocity adjustment (sometimes accompanied by an audible crack), we can provide that. If you’d prefer a completely gentle, low-force approach with no cracking at all – whether for yourself, a child, or during pregnancy – we have techniques specifically suited to that too. We’ll always discuss your preferences before any treatment begins.
Your first appointment includes a comprehensive health history, postural and neurological examination, and where clinically appropriate, spinal X-rays. We’ll explain our findings clearly, present a personalised care plan, and answer any questions you have before treatment starts.
Remedial Massage Therapy
Our remedial massage therapist provides targeted, therapeutic massage designed to work in conjunction with your chiropractic care. This is not relaxation massage – remedial massage is specific, outcome-focused treatment aimed at releasing muscular tension, improving circulation, and supporting tissue recovery.
Point Cook patients often book a combined chiropractic and massage appointment in the same visit – a highly efficient way to address both the spinal alignment and the surrounding muscular system in one session. Many patients find the effects of their chiropractic adjustment last longer when combined with massage.
Infrared Sauna
Our infrared sauna provides a different kind of heat therapy to a traditional sauna. Infrared wavelengths penetrate deeper into the body’s tissues – warming you from the inside out rather than just heating the ambient air. The benefits include deep muscle relaxation, improved circulation, reduction of inflammation, support for detoxification, better sleep, and improved skin condition.
Sauna sessions are available as a standalone booking or as an add-on to your chiropractic appointment. They are especially popular with patients recovering from physical activity, those managing chronic pain or fatigue, and patients who want to maximise the recovery benefit of each visit. Sessions are available by appointment during practice hours.

Yes. We are experienced in providing chiropractic care at all stages of pregnancy, including the Webster Technique – a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment designed to reduce interference to the nervous system and improve pelvic function during pregnancy. Many Point Cook patients are referred to us by their GPs or midwives. Pregnancy chiropractic care is safe, gentle, and tailored to the needs of the expectant mother at each stage.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes. We use HICAPS, which means your private health insurance rebate is processed on the spot at the time of your appointment. You pay only the gap. We accept all major Australian health funds including Medibank, BUPA, HCF, NIB, HBF, and AHM.
Does Medicare cover chiropractic care?
Medicare covers chiropractic care under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, also known as a GP Management Plan. Eligible patients can access up to 5 subsidised chiropractic visits per calendar year. You will need a referral from your GP to access this. We’re happy to explain how the process works – call us on (03) 9315 8888.
Do you accept TAC patients?

How long does the first appointment take?
Your initial consultation at Meadows Life takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. This includes a full health history, postural and neurological assessment, and a thorough explanation of our findings and recommendations. We won’t rush you. Subsequent appointments are typically 15–30 minutes depending on your care plan.
I’ve never seen a chiropractor before. What should I expect?
Your first visit is primarily a conversation and an assessment. We’ll ask about your health history, what’s brought you in, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll then conduct a physical examination. If appropriate, we may recommend spinal X-rays, which can be arranged nearby. We’ll explain everything we find and present a clear care plan before any hands-on treatment begins. You are never obligated to proceed on the day. Many patients tell us the first visit was far more comfortable and informative than they expected.
