5 Neck Stretches with Moneta!

This month, we’re focusing on stretching muscles that surround your neck. We’ve noticed that will everyday activities, like sitting at a desk, can cause pain and discomfort in our necks that can lessen the quality of work we continue for the rest of the day, if not a week. 

These easy 5 minute stretches can increase blood flow, muscle flexibility, decrease the pain you feel in your neck and help you to continue living life at your best!

  1. This stretch is for your UPPER TRAPEZIUS. Leaning your head to one side and holding it in that position with your hand for 10sec for 1min, alternating sides.
  2. This stretch is for your LEVATOR SCAPULAE. Leaning your head to one side on an angle can target this muscle. You’ll use your hand to hold this position for 10sec for 1min, alternating side angles.
  3. This stretch is for your DEEP NECK muscles and MID BACK muscles. BRing your chin to your chest, you’ll hold this for 10 sec for 1min, remembering to relax your shoulders.
  4. Stretches 4 & 5 work together. This targets your PECTORALIS MAJOR muscle. Standing up, you’ll rest your forearm on the wall and sway forwards and backwards to stretch out your chest.

These stretches are quick, simple and take 5 minutes to do in any workplace.
